Effect of Mindfulness Therapy to reduce hyperactivity among adolescents

Abstract


Hyperactive child not only affect his own academic growth, but also affect the overall academic environment of the classroom. With this backdrop, the present study investigated the effect of mindfulness therapy on hyperactivity of adolescents manifesting symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. A sample of 33 students with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was included in the investigation. The relevant tools and scales were administered on the respondents. The data was analyzed by applying appropriate statistics and results indicate that Mindfulness therapy is helpful in reducing the hyperactivity to facilitate the academic growth and personality development.
