Stress Management: Causes, Effects and Strategies

For over 9 decades, studies of stress have been gaining popularity within the behavioral, social, and health sciences. The term stress originated from the field of physics to denote how manmade structures must resist deformation caused by external forces. Besides stress that could be caused by family or personal problems, stress at work has become even a greater problem because of job restructure, globalization and more demand on the task at hand. This might lead to higher job insecurity which would make employees feel stressed and distressed. (Tennant, 2001, p. 697) Therefore the increased stress among employees motivated us to become interested, sensitive and curious regarding the importance of the subject. So, this lecture is to study all the sources, symptoms or effects and also all the strategies to remove and reduce the stress so that to improve efficiency and to increase productivity. This paper is basically a review research paper as the views of different researchers , authors have been taken in this study.
