A Study on Preference of Women Employees in Hospitality Industry



This study aims to examine the preference of women employees in the hospitality industry. The hospitality industry is a labor demanding industry where women can explore their knowledge, skills, and abilities in different ways. Women are considered in front areas where they have more interaction with guests like front office. Because of their aesthetic sense, they are preferred in Housekeeping department. To provide home-like environment to the customer’s women employees are found in food and beverage service areas. The study also revealed various reasons for preference of women employees in the hospitality industry. Women have better communication skills, aesthetic sense, better decision- making ability , flexible nature, democratic leadership style ,patience level helps them to prefer in the hospitality industry. The study concludes that women empowerment is beneficial for the smooth functioning of the hospitality industry.
